Ann Yaffe PhillipS
Ann Yaffe Phillips has been an art dealer and art advisor in the field of 20th century art for over 30 years. Her deep passion for art, love of scholarship, experienced eye, integrity and commitment to her clients have propelled her career. Ann began her career working at contemporary galleries and next moved to Hirschl & Adler Galleries, where she was active in sales and curated exhibitions of American modernism and decorative arts. She later joined the Citibank Art Advisory Service as the Contemporary Art advisor where she advised high net worth clients on acquisitions and sales for collections and appraised art held as collateral by the bank. While at Citi she purchased for collectors many iconic examples of contemporary art which have later set records at auction. Beginning in 2000, Ann was an independent art advisor and private dealer, primarily in the fields of Contemporary and American art, and also formed select collections for corporate clients. Ann joined James Reinish & Associates in 2008, where as Gallery Director she again worked in private sales of 20th century American and post-war art and curated exhibitions of American modernism.
Ann graduated with honors from Yale University with a B.A. in the History of Art, and did graduate studies in Art History at Hunter College. She currently serves on the Acquisitions Committee of the Montclair (NJ) Art Museum and was formerly on the Membership and Appraisals Committees of the Art Dealers Association of America.
